A new familymember / Uusi perheenjäsen

About a month ago it arrived, my new baby: Louët S10 DT. My fiber-stash has since grown exponentially, and this is what I have done so far.

Kuukausi sitten se saapui, uusi perheenjäsen: Louët S10 DT. Kuitustashini on alkanut kasvaa räjähdysmäisesti ja valmistakin on tullut.

P*skarteluhaaste #226 - Bingo

A Finnish challenge again, with a bingo-board. I went with brads-stripes-brown.

Paskiksessa bingoillaan taas:
http://pskarteluhaaste.blogspot.no/2014/03/pskarteluhaaste-226-bingo.html

Tim Holtz Alterations Chevron -Bigz die and a learning experience

I usually love pretty much anything Tim Holtz, and especially his Bigz-dies because they cut like butter. I knew I had to get the Chevron -die for paperpiecing, and this weekend I finally had time to play with it.

So on I go, running the die through my Big Shot with 4 different patterned papers, poke out the little pieces, put my frame on a double sided tape and start piecing.

First piece doesn't fit. The second piece doesn't fit. The third piece doesn't fit. I have 4 x 16 pieces on my desk, all in a jumble, and nothing fits! So I take one of the frames that doesn't have tape on it, and start figuring out why:

It's a chevron right, you'd think each piece was the same size? Nope. Each row has it's unique size, and not all pieces on one row are the same.

So, if you are going for the paperpiecing with this die, for the love of god DO NOT POKE OUT THE PIECES! Just pluck them out of their frame one at a time.

I did finally finish the card, after having pieced all the pieces back in their respective frames and gotten everything in order:

Addicted to Technics #8

Back with the Finnish Addicted to Technics with their background with salt -challenge. Continuing in clean and simple style I matted black cardstock on a white card base. The main piece is made with Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise, Crushed Grape and Funky Fuchsia and salt on thick watercolor paper. Text is stamped with VersaMark and then heat embossed with white detail-powder. The stars are die cut with the Simon Says Stamp! Holiday Shapes, glittered with a little Wink of Stella and topped off with coating of Glossy Accents. The black stars on the inside got Wink of Stella coating as well. To finish the card off I doodled some faux stitching with my Uniball Signo.

Addicted to Technics -blogissa haastellaan tekemään tausta suolan avulla. Holiday Shapes -stanssilla akvarellipaperista, glitteröity Wink of Stella -sivellinkynällä ja päällystetty Glossy Accentsillä. Kortin sisään stanssasin mustasta pahvista 3 tähteä lisää, näissä on myös Wink of Stellaa. Lopuksi vielä valkoisella Uniball Signolla katkoviivoja reunoihin.

Less is More #163 Masking or stencilling

I finally got my hands on the Tim Holtz spritzer, and was happily surprised that my Promarkers fit in it - so far I've only seen it demoed with Copics and they have a smaller barrel.

Tässäpä siis kortti spritzerillä ja Promarkereilla Less is More -haasteeseen.

Less is More 163 theme "Masking or stecilling" came almost as ordered, so here is a card made with the spritzer, 3 shades of Promarkers and a stencil from Memory Box. I picked the Promarker colors to fit the enamel dots from Teresa Collins.

Since the Promarkers are alchohol based, just water will not clean the stencil. I used hand sanitizer wipes, which worked out great. I also found that I could control the placement of the spray pattern better, if I actually held on to the pen with my left hand while spritzing with my right - otherwise the spray tended to go where ever it pleased.

Promarker colors: Pastel Green, Pastel Pink and Pastel Yellow
Stencil: Memory Box Texture Flourish (Style 88519)
