Hilltop Cloud BFL-silk

More practising at gettting even quality yarn: Hilltop Cloud's bfl-silk ended up as 3-ply 360m/90g fingering weight.

Sormiharjoittelut jatkuvat, Hilltop Cloudin bfl-silkki taipui kolmisäikeiseksi langaksi, metrejä n. 360m / 90g.

Retro Girl Starshower

I've been a good girl and actually knit some of my spinning! Greenwood Fiberworks' heathered bfl in Retro Girl -colorway ended up as a cowl.

Olen jopa neulonut kehräilyistäni :) Greenwood Fiberworksin heathered bfl värissä Retro Girl taipui keepiksi.

Pattern / Ohje: Starshower

P*skarteluhaaste #228 luonnos

The Finnish P*skarteluhaaste called for a sketch and I got to use my lovely Penny Black Softly -stamp colored in with Inktense-pencils and Memory Box Flourish -stencil with white ink.

Retro Girl

Alan saamaan pikkuhiljaa aikaiseksi tasaisempaa lankaa. Tässä olisi sormiharjoituksina tehty aivan mahtava Greenwood Fiberworksin heathered bfl värissä "Retro Girl". Metrejä n. 510, grammoja 118, 2-säikeistä. Kehrätty S10:n standardirullalla, keskimmäisellä kehrällä (1:7.5). Lanka Ravelryssa.

I am slowly getting better at spinning more consistent yarn. Here is some absolutely stunning Greenwood Fiberworks heathered bfl in colorway "Retro Girl". About 510 m / 118 g; 2-ply. Spun on the standard bobbin with my S10, middle whorl (1:7.5) The yarn in Ravelry.

Less Is More #167 - One layer / shadow stamping

This week at Less Is More challenge a one layer shadow stamping card is called for.

I finally found some good use for my Visible Image "Ink Splats" -stamp set! I used Peacock Feathers, Dusty Concord and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks for the stamping, creating the shadows with second generation stamping. On the front I used clear Wink of Stella glitterpen on top of the first generation splats. I stamped the same combination also on the inside of the card in slightly different composition and framed both the outside and the inside with faux stitching done in Peacock Feathers Distress Marker. Text is done with an old Lawn Fawn set, Harold's ABCs

Simon Says: Happy Birthday!

The Simon Says Wednesday challenge blog calls for a Happy birthday -card. I went for the masculine-type from kraft-cardstock, and the funny Clearly Besotted Stamps "Super Dad" -dies.

The cardstock is embossed with the Diamond Plate - Sizzix embossing folder. The strip on the side is made through the Harlequin Layering Stencil and Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Black Soot -inks with the new mini ink blending tools. I really love those! Much easier to do smaller areas.

I diecut the shirt from black cardstock and the tie from white, and raised them up with 3d-foam squares.

The congratulations-text is stamped with and old stamp set from Lawn Fawn: Harold's ABCs and lifted up with some 3d-foam squares.
