Sugar Bowl #20

Sugar Bowl had a sketch and an option to include paper piecing in the card. I pieced her hat and jerkin from an American Craft paper, of which I had remnants left - can't remember the name of it anymore. Unfortunately the picture doesn't show how I glossed her boots with Glossy Accents - the fall is making photographing more and more difficult with the fading light.

Sugar Bowlin'

This card for The Sugar Bowl #16 really fought me all the way...

I was supposed to stamp the sentiment with another stamp, and had done so, when my kitty came in from the rain, came to say hi by hopping on my craft table and left wet paw prints on the ink. Safe to say Distress ink is NOT waterproof ;P Okay, plan b then, I'll doodle the text. I had a pretty sign all drawn up, when my hubby comes to see what I'm doing and goes "Honey, you know you misspelled that..." I am not Norwegian, and I tried to write "Gratulerer med dagen" but had instead written "Gratureler med dagen". I swear I read it twice and did not notice! At this point I gave up and went to bed. The next day I used single alphabet to make the sentiment, which is correctly spelled now, I HOPE.

The option was to include doodling, which is now present as stitching in the background circle and as the stars.

Final sentiments, blah. Really wasn't my day.

Sugar Bowl #15

Entering Sugar Bowl with one of the images I got from Mina. Colored with watercolor pencils, papers from a magazine cd, ribbon / bow from Ikea gift ribbon :D Oh, and the retro flowers are made from paint samples I took from a home improvement store - gotta love those little cards with gazillion coordinating colors :D Bf thought though that I am mad when I came back from the paint shelf hands full of paint samples: "Honey, I don't think they are meant for card making...". What, they were free, he should be happy cause I just saved him a lot of money ;)

Gorjuss girls <3

I got this lovely Gorjuss girl from the wonderful Mina, among a huge stack of other images. Sugar bowl had a sketch challenge this week, and the included option was to use the color "kraft" or brown. Well, since I didn't have exactly kraft, I went for brown shades all over - I bet you can find something krafty there :D I painted her with water diluted Brilliance Dew Drops that I got from Panduro's sale today - Pearlescent Poppy, Coffee Bean and Crimson Copper, and her socks are Distress Vintage Photo. The corner flower I crocheted to go along with the color scheme :)
