Alecia Beth - takista jäi lankaa yli sen verran, että tein lopuista Avant l'orage -huivin. Kaverina Wollmeise Purea Maus Jung -värissä, vaikka kontrastia vähän vähänlaisesti tulikin.

Leftover yarn from Alecia Beth - cardi became Avant l'orage -shawl. The contrasting color is Maus Jung, even though the contrast in the end was a bit too little for my taste.

Moab shawl

Tour de Fleecen aikana kehräsin Lanitium ex Machinan merinoa 2-säikeiseksi paksuksi pitsivahvuudeksi (800m/145g; 551m/100g). Etsiskelin pitkään huivimallia, ja päädyin Moab shawliin, joka toimii hyvin käsinkehrätyn langan kanssa. Työmatkaprojektina meni 27 tuntia neulomiseen. Projekti Ravelryssa.

During Tour de Fleece I span Lanitium ex Machina's merino into a heavy lace weight 2-ply (800m/145g; 551m/100g). After searching ages for a pattern, I found the Moab shawl, which works nicely with handspun. This was a commute project, total of 27 hours. Project-page in Ravelry.

Pikaneule / A quick knit

Vapailla tuli tikuteltua äänikirjojen seurana pikaneule: hyväksi havaittu Shetland Triangle Lanitium ex Machinan  bfl/silkki-sekoituksesta, joka on Villavyyhdin viime vuotisen Suuren suomalaisen neulekerhon erikoisväri.

During the holiday vacation I did a quick knit while listening to some audiobooks. The good old Shetland Triangle from the Finnish indie dyer Lanitium ex Machina's bfl/silk-blend.

Yllä olevassa kuvassa värit toistuvat jotenkuten oikein, tähän vuodenaikaan violetin kuvaaminen on aivan mahdotonta...

The picture above shows the colors quite correctly, the lack of light makes taking pictures of purple absolutely impossible at this time of year.

Pingoitussetti on kyllä ollut hintansa arvoinen hankinta!

Kyllä sieltä puikoiltakin vielä jotain valmistuu! Ranne vihoitteli pitkään ja tätä on tehty aina pienissä pätkissä silloin tällöin.

I used yo, k tbl, yo in the middle increases instead of the m3 to get a middle stich as I found the m3 too bulky to use with this yarn. The best incling of the true color is in the first picture with the cone. My only beef is I bought just one cone and it is all gone now... I should have blocked this doubled, as now the other wing is a bit longer then the other.









Muutin keskiosan lisäykset mutta muuten tein ohjeen mukaan. Lankaa jäi huimat pari metriä jäljelle... Nyt harmittaa, etten ostanut tuota väriä kuin yhden kartion :/ Parhaiten oikea väri näkyy tuosta kuvasta, jossa on kartio mukana. Olisi pitänyt pingottaa kaksinkertaisena keskeltä taitettuna, nyt tuli toisesta "siivestä" vähän pidempi.

Aeolian #2

I knit this a while back already, but it was waiting for blocking for some time. The pattern is Aeolian, with some small modifications: I made this for my mom whose first comment on seeing my original shawl was "THAT big?!". I was already done with the basic pattern repeats so I had to cut down the Agave repeats so that I only made the Final Agave -chart. I also left out all the beads and all the nupps. Blocking wasn't as harsh as it could've been either. You can see the lifeline where I left out the 2 Agave-charts.

Tämä huivi valmistui jo hetki sitten, mutta odotteli pingotusta jonkin aikaa. Ohjeena oli Aeolian muutamilla muutoksilla. Tein huivin äidilleni, jonka ensimmäinen kommentti alkuperäisen Aeolianini nähdessään oli "NOIN ISO?!". Olin jo saanut valmiiksi peruskuviotoistot, joten piti sitten hätäisesti jättää pois kaksi Agave-kuvion toistoa ja tein vain Final Agave -kuvion. Elämänlanka näkyy huivissa siinä kohtaa, jossa toistot on jätetty pois. Jätin pois myös helmet ja nypyt, enkä pingottanutkaan ihan niin voimakkaasti kuin olisin voinut.

Silk Haruni

This pattern was absolutely wonderful, I love the edging, it is so delicate! I made 16 repeats instead of given 12, and used approx. 48 grams of the silk. And once again ColourMart delivered a wonderful yarn...

Even if lately I have been seriously bitten by the stamping bug, I still do a lot of knitting... I do! June 20th is the graduation ball at the Airforce Academy here in Trondheim, and my bf is finishing his school, so I am kinda forced to attend. No, I don't like formal parties, and this is as formal as it gets... Well, anyway, I needed a new shawl to go with my dress, and I went for Aeolian from Knitty.com.

I did not use beads through out the pattern, but instead added them only during the edging. It slows me down considerably, and I wouldn't have had enough beads anyway - and I am happy with the result.

The yarn is absolutely fabulous, the silk content gives it incredible sheen which you can best see from the photos I used flash in. The last picture shows how the beads and the color of my dress coordinate ;)

Yarn: teetee Elegant (raverly link), 70% wool 30% tussah silk, 500m/50g, received as a gift from the ever so elegant Mielitty

Tämä on yhä neuleblogi, vaikka viime aikojen postaukset ovatkin enimmäkseen olleet tulosta kortteilukärpäsen puremasta... Kesäkuun 20. tanssitaan ilmasotakoulun valmistujaistanssiaisia, ja allekirjoittaneen on enemmän tai vähemmän pakko osallistua, koska turska valmistuu. Tilaisuus on viimeisen päälle muodollinen, miehillä on pingviinipuvut ja naisilla tanssiaishameet. Tarvitsin uuden huivin oman pukuni seuraksi, ja malliksi valikoitui Aeolian knitty.comista.

Helmiä en käyttänyt kuin reunusta kutoessa, niiden asettaminen kun on niin hidasta touhua, eikä minulla niitä olisi ollut tarpeeksikaan. Olen kuitenkin todella tyytyväinen lopputulokseen tällaisenaan, teeteen Elegantissa on aivan mahtava silkin kiilto. Se näkyy parhaiten tuossa yhdessä salaman kera otetussa kuvassa. Viimeisessä kuvassa näkyy pukuni kangas ja kuinka helmet ovat sävy-sävyyn ;)

Ja lankahan oli aina niin elegantilta Mielityltä lahjaksi saatua :)

Springtime Swirl Shawl finished

I never guessed how long it takes to make a sideways knit border to a circular shawl... I think I spent about 2 weeks (evenings that is) in that never-ending task! But all things come to an end, and after some serious blocking on our bed, may I present:

Knitterly stuff / Vaihteeksi neulontaa

I haven't totally gone over to card making, even though it might seem so... I've been knitting the Springtime Swirl Shawl what feels like for a year now - I'm on the final clue, the edging. It is really taking ages to knit a sideways edge to a circular shawl >_> Here's a little peek on what the finished edge will look like:

Note that I have changed the clue: I am knitting every second round, not purling like it should be. I like the garter stitch better than stockinette.

En nyt ihan täysin ole kortin tekoon hurahtanut, vaikka se blogia lukiessa siltä tuntuisikin. Olen työstänyt Springtime Swirl shawlia jo kohta ikuisuuden - ainakin se siltä tuntuu, kun menossa on ympyrähuiviin sivuttaisreunus... Yllä muutama vilkaisu reunukseen, jota olen alkuperäisestä ohjeesta sen verran muuntanut, että neulon nurjat kerrokset oikein. Minusta nätimpi noin.

Post-shawl hangover pt 2

I finally got around photographing the Shetland Triangle I finished ages ago... The yarn is wonderful 100% silk thread from Colourmart namely
ColourMart Silk 4/56NM Lace Weight. I should have asked them to wound it double as the single strand was really, REALLY thin and I ended up doing I think 18 or something repeats more than the pattern called for :D Anyway, it is beautiful and is serving now as my autumn-scarf as it's not yet cold enough for the woolen ones.

The Wedding Shawl...

Frantic knitting began 30th Sep and finished 18th Oct - enough time to pack it and send it to Finland. Phew... Quite nice a pattern, only problems I had was with the border pattern: just could not memorize it until three quarters of the border was knitted.

Wedding shawl / Häähuivi

Friend of mine decided to order a wedding shawl from me with a bit of a tight schedule (1 month), so everything else is now hibernating while I try a mile-a-minute speed with the shawl.

Kaveri tahtoipi tilata häähuivin hiukka kireällä aikataululla (1kk), joten muut projektit ovat jäissä samalla kun tikutan menemään mahdollisimman nopeasti...
