Cuddling / halailua

This is one of those "awww"-posts - the kids were cuddling on the couch :)

Tämä on taas näitä "awww"-postauksia - muksut halailivat sohvalla toisiaan.

Autumn is coming... How about a little knitting candy?

**candy closed**
**arvonta suljettu**

Autumn is slowly creeping upon us, and what better way to celebrate the shortening days and cooling evenings than to knit up some cozy wristwarmers ^_^

So, how about a little raffle again, comment here on this post by the end of August (31.8.2009), and one randomly selected commenter will win my wristwarmer pattern!

Winner will receive the pattern either via e-mail, or if she/he is a Ravelry member, then I will send a download link through Ravelry. So remember to mention your Ravelry name if you are a member, or if you do not want to enclose the information here, just make a note that you are in Ravelry, so I can ask for your alias if you are the lucky winner ^_^

Oh so yummie bed...

Boyd sleeps in his own crate during nights, so bed is a luxury he gets on very seldom. My mom was visiting us so hubby slept on the computer room floor, and someone had a blast with this sudden soft spot on the floor!

Koira nukkuu omassa kopissaan yöt, joten sänky on sille harvinaista luksusta. Äipän visiitin ajan turska nukkui tietokonehuoneen lattialla, ja joku otti kyllä kaiken ilon irti tästä yhtäkkiä pehmenneestä lattiasta...

Apologies for the crappy picture quality, only had my phone at hand at the time.

New kitty-toys...

Went to Sweden today to "save" in food shopping... One drives 30 minutes from our house to across the border to Svinesund, which is packed full with stores aimed at the Norwegians coming to abuse the cheap Swedish krone (current rate is about 10 nok = 11.73 sek). Anyway, there is this petstore there where we buy cat litter, the price of one 5kg EverClean here is roughly the same or higher than that of 11.5kg across the border. Ended up buying some cheap toys for the kitty as well, but as it seemed, she liked much more the cardboard case for Ramlösa (for non-Swedes, it's carbonated mineral water in cans).

"What am I supposed to do with this, huh?"

"Okay, now THIS is much more fun!"

On another note, there is very little room in my craft den for even a small kitty to lay on the floor...

Sukkersött #49

Sukkersött #49 calls for a christmas card, but not in the traditional colors.

I used Tilda Christmas mouse stamps I got from Panduro's sale a year back (and have never used before *cough*)... Here's two pictures, one without the flash and the other with, as I used Stickles, pearls and Glimmer Mists and no amount of effort got all of them to show in one picture...

The image is colored with Distress Inks.

MMSC #14

Another Midnight Madness sketch, brilliant as always :)

This sketch was superb for another one of Mo's Digital Pencil images, as they are quite large and do not need additional embellishments (IMHO). Colored with watercolor pencils, twice, and layered.

Papers: Digital downloads
Images: "John" from Mo's Digital Pencil (note that this is the freebie version, with brushed lines)
Ink: Distress Ink Peeled Paint
Coloring: watercolor pencils, Koi-brush

New things / Uusia keksintöjä

I searched for some time a collar for Suvi that would be cat safe, ie. have a release mechanism on the lock if she gets caught by it. Finally found one last week - the problem is that it's a bit TOO cat safe - she's worn the collar for 5 days now and gotten it off four times. This is what she thinks of me AND the collar (as you can see, the collar is fully reflexive material, which was a huge plus!):

She has also found out the bathtub and the sink last week - previously she only played under both. After finally venturing in them, and finding out there are miraculous sources of fresh, flowing water in them, every time someone is in the bathroom they get company. Meowing company. The sink is also a really cool place to relax.

Lujaa naukuvaa seuraa. Altaassa on myös kiva rentoutua, lienee viileä alusta.

What do you mean you need to brush your teeth?

Siis mitä sä meinaat, että pitäisi hampaat päästä pesemään?

I leave you with pictures of sleepy furry kids.
Jätän teidät unisten karvalasten seuraan.

Dried fish, some missdemeanors and sleepy kids.

"Granddad" always tries to feed the puppy yummies behind our backs - and they really share the love for dried fish:

The stench is something unbelievable. It's dried torsk, the stuff you make lutefisk from. The dog (and granddad) absolutely love the stuff.

Boyd sleeps in his cage during the nights, but occasionally there's an intruder there... Eating his chewing stick :P

To the rescue:

The kids have become more or less friends:

And I seriously hate it when my bf takes sneakshots of me napping...

(Oh, and some of you might notice that Boyd has grown out of his blue collar - now he has a more "manly" black one ;P)

P*skarteluhaaste #1 (Finnish challenge blog, only in FInnish)

Hihhei, ensimmäinen p*skarteluhaaste on täällä :D

violetti / keltainen

Tilda on Minalta saatuja kuvia, väritetty Distress Inkeillä (Vintage Photo, Fired Brick, Dusty Concord). Paperit ovat Basic Grayta, retro-kukat on leikattu maalinäytteistä ja keltainen nauha on anoppikokelaan varastoista, jotka siirtyivät minun varastoihini turskan kommentoidessa äidilleen vapaasti suomennettuna "Kiitti vaan roskasta". Siellä oli vaikka mitä kivaa ;)

Boyd, 17 weeks, or should I say Romeo?

So, our "little" devil had a visitor last weekend, an elderly German Shepherd lady, who unfortunately was in the end of her heat... He didn't quite know what to do, to try to play or... Well, see for yourself ;P

The old lady didn't really take him too seriously, and gave him some paw for his trouble :D Poor Romeo...

He still tried hard to get the lady's interest:

Finally we had to do some timeout on daddy's lap:

He's grown so much, look at this picture taken when he was 12 weeks:

No beard here...

Now at 17 weeks, mr. Puberty has a beard and some long chest hair too!

Sugar Bowlin'

This card for The Sugar Bowl #16 really fought me all the way...

I was supposed to stamp the sentiment with another stamp, and had done so, when my kitty came in from the rain, came to say hi by hopping on my craft table and left wet paw prints on the ink. Safe to say Distress ink is NOT waterproof ;P Okay, plan b then, I'll doodle the text. I had a pretty sign all drawn up, when my hubby comes to see what I'm doing and goes "Honey, you know you misspelled that..." I am not Norwegian, and I tried to write "Gratulerer med dagen" but had instead written "Gratureler med dagen". I swear I read it twice and did not notice! At this point I gave up and went to bed. The next day I used single alphabet to make the sentiment, which is correctly spelled now, I HOPE.

The option was to include doodling, which is now present as stitching in the background circle and as the stars.

Final sentiments, blah. Really wasn't my day.

MMSC #13 and allsorts challenge

Did someone say Vintage? And of course, the weekly dose of MMSC layouts. They are giving out some magnificent prizes again this month!

This is kind of an homage to the Next Level girls, as I used 2 techniques tutorialed there in this card. In the background I have 12 little Grungeboard pieces, half of which are colored with Distress ink Vintage Photo and Glimmer Mist Sand, the other half with Vintage Photo and Peeled Paint. The image is a freebie vintage from The Graphics Fairy.
