Post-Christmas time / Joulunjälkeistä elämää

Christmas is over (thank goodness) and normal life will commence after New Years. Furry kids got presents, of which all eatable things have been eaten and of the toys one is broken and one was lost for 2 days. I got a BIG toy, Canon EOS 500D and took many many many bad pictures. Some of them I kinda like, here's few of Suvi :)

Joulu on ohi luojankiitos ja normaalielämään palataan uuden vuoden jälkeen. Karvaelukat saivat lahjoja, joista syötävät ovat syöty, 1 hajotettu ja toinen oli pari päivää jo kadoksissakin. Itse sain ISON lelun, Canonin EOS 500D kameran ja otin lukuisia huonoja kuvia. Oli siellä joukossa ihan semionnistuneitakin, tässä Suvia :)

I even got some knitting done(!). This was a "have to" project, as I kinda shrunk Mr.'s old hat. It was SUPPOSED to be superwash wool, I checked...

Sain jopa jotain valmista kudottuakin, tosin "pakkopullaa". Saatoin nimittäin ehkä kutistaa isännän vanhan pipon, vaikka sen piti kyllä olla superwash villaa.

I picked up Suvi's Christmas presents today from the post, and I had to try if the Kong Kickeroo would be worth its name... Well, in short, it was :D

It wasn't me mommy, it was the cat, I SWEAR! I was just eating my bone here when the present dropped on the floor and just EXPLODED.



Äiti se en ollut minä, se oli kissa, ihan VARMASTI! Tässä vain ihan viattomasti söin luutani, kun lahjapaketti putosi taivaasta ja RÄJÄHTI.

And then mommy was bad and made me took a bath. It was eww.




Ja sitten äiti vielä pakotti kylpyyn ja se oli ihan tyhmää!

Cardboard boxes rock / Pahvilaatikot ovat parhaita

A cardboard box is endless fun. Especially if you throw in some crunched up candy wrappers.

Pahvilaatikoista saa loppumatonta hupia, varsinkin jos sinne vielä heittää muutaman rytistetyn karkkipaperin.

Problems arise when the cat tries to extract candy wrappers by herself, and the dog assists. How many got eaten, we do not know. The dog is fine though. So is the cat.

Ongelmia syntyy, kun kissa yrittää itsekseen hankkia karkkipapereita koiran avustuksella. Kuinka moni karkki päätyi parempiin suihin, ei tietoa, mutta koira ja kissa voivat molemmat hyvin.

Some xmas stuff / Joulujuttuja

I have been on a cardmaking / challenge hiatus, as I have had no inspiration and in addition my craftroom is pretty cold at the moment, around 15 degrees, as it is closed off all the time because of the animals and I don't want to use the electrical heater in there for no good reason. Some things needed to be done though, so here's four cards and a gift box. Those Basic Gray Wassail papers are lovely btw!

Olen ollut kortteilu / haastetauolla inspiraation puutteen takia ja siksikin, että askarteluhuoneessani on tällä hetkellä melko kylmä (n. 15 astetta), koska elukoiden takia ovi pitää pitää kiinni enkä halua siellä sitten tyhjän panttina pitää sähköpatteria päällä. Joitain juttuja piti kuitenkin saada tehtyä, joten tässä seuraa neljä korttia ja yksi lahjalaatikko. Nuo Basic Grayn Wassail paperit ovat muuten aivan ihania!

I've been blah for 2 weeks now, seems like the rain and darkness have squeezed all my creative juices from me.

Here are two cards I've managed to scrape together, the first one was for my hubby's birthday and the other one just one more xmas card.

I've been incredibly unproductive lately, I just don't feel like creating anything. I guess it's the rain and the gray weather, darkness and approaching winter.

This pic though, it was so awful I had to make into a layout :D I used some of the new embellishments Sybille made in addition to the Gothique kits.

Magpie Magic Scrap(K)it Gothque testing part 2

I got the second part of the Gothique kit (Medieval) to testing from Sybille, and here's what I came up with:



I used one frame, 2 backing papers and one black and white pattern. A wonderful kit again, and I would have played with it more, but someone has stuck a knife under my shoulder blade and doing anything at the moment is a bit painful. Not as bad as yesterday, when I yelped every time I sat down / got up or moved my right hand in a bad angle, but enough to uncomfortable.

First snow / Ensilumi

Yesterday we had the first snow here, and Boyd had his first contact with the cold white eatable stuff that offers him much better chances of eating other dog's pee than normal grass. Also pooing was incredibly difficult, as he was so distracted and the snow was soo cold...



Eilen tuli ensilumi ja Boyd kohtasi ensimmäistä kertaa tuota kylmää valkoista syötävää materiaalia, josta toisten koirien pissat on huomattavasti helpompi haukata suuhun kuin tavallisesta ruohikosta. Kakan tulokin oli todella vaikeaa, kun lumi vei kaiken huomion ja oli kaiken lisäksi vielä kylmää...

Dog Friday #8 "aina yhtä hankalaa" (Finnish dog picture challenge)

Kissakuvahaasteen rinnalle löysin Dog Friday koirakuvahaasteen, jossa aiheena tällä kertaa "aina yhtä hankalaa". Meillä ei ole koulutustilanteesta yhtään kuvaa kun ihmisellä on silloin kädet täynnä muutenkin, mutta jos olisi, tähän tulisi kuvasarja siitä, miten vaikeaa kieriminen on käskystä. Ilman käskyä se onnistuu kyllä ihan superhienosti, mutta käskyn kera siitä tulee lähinnä hankalaa ryömimistä, ja Boyd yrittää päästä helpolla ja kierähtää vain puolikierrosta.

Mutta sitten meillä on tämä toinen Suuri Ongelma, eli kissan lelut. Kun ne olisi niin kiva varastaa ja syödä...



Kahta viikkoa myöhemmin, kun luulin suurimman varastamisinnon jo laantuneen:


Eihän se ollutkaan kuin Suville lähetetty, käsin neulahuovutettu lahjahiiri...

Suvi-dear / Suvi-kiltti

Suvi-dear, could you please stop eating my cables? If not, could you at least stop eating the IMPORTANT cables such as my iPod charger? Or did you object to the fact that Brandon Sanderson continued the Wheel of Time? You know you could've just voiced your doubts and not sabotage my listening experience.



Suvi-kiltti, voisitko lakata syömästä sähkökaapeleita? Jos et, niin voisitko ainakin olla pureksimatta niitä TÄRKEITÄ kaapeleita, kuten mun iPodin laturia? Vai vastustatko sitä, että Brandon Sanderson otti kontolleen Wheel of Timen jatkon? Olisit voinut mainita asiasta, etkä vain sabotoida äänikirjan kuunteluani noin ilkeästi.

Commenting issues... / Ongelmia kommentoinnissa...

For two days now I haven't been able to comment on Blogger-blogs... I get "The connection has timed out" every time. I can read blogs, I can read feeds, but I cannot comment. Annoying :I So, I guess if people have the same problem, it wouldn't work to ask you to comment :D

Edit: Well, apparently commenting works for others... I cannot even read the comments on my own blog through the blog, not from my computer (winXP/sp2, Firefox 3.5.5) nor from hubby's comp (Vista something / Firefox 3.5.5). Anyone from NORWAY who can comment? Anyone from Norway with Tele2 bredband who can comment?

Kahteen päivään en ole pystynyt kommentoimaan Blogger-blogeihin. Joka kerta tulee "The connection has timed out" -virheilmo. Voin kyllä lukea samoja blogeja ja niiden syötteitä, mutta kommentointi ei onnistu. Lienee turha pyytää ihmisiä kommentoimaan tähän, josko muillakin on samaa ongelmaa :D

Edit: No näyttää tuo kommentointi muilla toimivan. Itse en pysty edes omaan blogiin tulleita kommentteja lukemaan blogin kautta, en omalta (winXP/sp2, Firefox 3.5.5) enkä isännän koneelta (Vista jotakin / Firefox 3.5.5).

Magpie Magic Scrap(K)it Goth Modern testing

Sybille's been busy again, and this time the theme of the kit is Goth.

The little goth still living inside was sooo happy with this kit, it is absolutely awesome! The boot / shoe stamp made me squeal with glee :D

Here's what I came up with:

I knew I wanted to use the photo with my loooong hair with this kit. Sadly the answer to the question was "yes" :(

I used two of the stamps (you can see a "watermark" type of effect on the right upper corner and left bottom corner), one of the backing papers, one frame and one transparency. I stretched the frame to better fit the photo.

And then to the gorgeous boot...



Isn't it great :D (again, clicking on the pics will give you a larger version). It is positively spikeyh...

Recipe for this one was 2 backing papers and 2 stamps. This kit seems to work as a Christmas themed -one too ;)
